BeamLight Foundation (BLF) team visited Maidan Primary School and Aina Memorial Primary School on 12th March 2025.
The pupils were given talks on sex education and the need to imbibe certain core values. Emphasis was laid on the differentiation between the private parts and public or general parts of the body. The private parts, just as the name insinuate, should be kept private because they are personal to the owner. They are not meant for public viewing. The pupils were equally informed to report any incident of sexual abuse and molestation. They were also given information on safety and how to prevent sexual abuse from taking place.
Also, the following core values were highlighted during the teaching: love, self-control, responsibility, patience, honesty/integrity, resilience et cetera. The pupils were admonished to cultivate these values as these will aid them go through their day-to-day activities easily and also help them become better pupils.
